Picciuti Poker Club (A Heritage HOA social club)

The Heritage Homeowners Association Board of Directors voted to change the name of our club to the Picciuti Poker Club in honor of Chuck Picciuti who created the club years ago.

I asked Chuck when the first poker event occurred for the club and to his best recollection it was sometimes in 2010,  He and his wife Mary organized each and every game at least twice a month for all those years.  Mary was always at the poker tournament games taking entry fees and distributing chips to the players.  She would always stay until after the first break when late registration was complete.  Her duties complete, she would wish everyone a good night with a response from the players of thanks.

During these last 11 years or so, Chuck managed the club with help from his treasurer John Crawford.   Some tournaments fielded five or six tables of players.  Items for the club were bought from donations made from players over the years.  Poker tables, chips, playing cards, electronic game clock, a couple of TVs for the HOA club room, all  made the poker experience as realistic as any casino card room.  Chuck also championed a number of charitable causes for the club including Eagle Scout projects, a Heritage Little Library constuction, food drives and the annual major fund raiser "Assist the Officer."  An effort to raise money for Fort Worth police officers who have been shot or injured in the line of duty.  Significant funds were raised each year around a major fund raising event involving a large poker tournament.  It was a great deal of work for the club but was worth the effort and was satisying to see actual recipients of past funds raised attend the event.

Unfortunately the Covid pandemic brought everything to a complete stop.  Chuck and Mary just don't have the energy to restart the club activities again and have decided to retire.  He has passed the torch to a new generation who will give the club a chance to revive.  Dan Piontkowsk will take up the lead for the club and John Crawford will still maintain our finances.  You are invited to join the next edition of the Heritage Poker Club now called the Picciuti Poker Club.

Free Roll Fun

The Free Roll night was a success.  Had a few new players attend for their first time and we hope to see them again.  A few players from the pre-Covid period returned to enjoy the chance to win a few dollars for no risk.  Good to see Donna C (one of our top female tournament cash winners from the past) and Dolye W again.  In the  end Harold D took first place and Dan O second. The final hand had Dan O going ALL IN with  99  and a quick call from Harold D who turns up AA. It was over quickly. Two tables of cash games started up and went late into the night.

Our founder, Chuck Picciuti,  made it in time to play awhile in the cash game.  It was announced  that the Heritage Homeowner's Association voted unanimously to rename the club to "Picciuti Poker Club" in honor of our founder who has retired from managment of the club.  An honor well-deserved.
The next event is a cash only game at the  clubhouse set for Saturday night the 13th.

One of our members has decided to enter into the world of managing his own "legal" poker room.  A social club that requires a membership to join with the abililty to play private poker games with friends and neighbors.  Good luck to Jason B in this endeavor.
