Donna Cooper won back- to- back tournaments ( I believe for the first time in club history) beating a predominately male field of competitors. She now has an automatic seat in the final tournament in the league series. The poker world generally is a male dominated game. Females only make up about 10% of all poker players but the number seems to be rising.
Our league format is coming along nicely. We recently played both a Limit hold-em tournament and a Omaha tournament. Both took a little to get used to, but everyone seem to have a good time.
Currently there are three people guaranteed a seat at the final table. Cary Moon, Robin Langley, and Donna Cooper. Points leaders for at least one seat (or more if Donna keeps winning) are Harold Davis, Isaac Henschel, and Gary Wysocki.
March 22 the City of Dallas will decide whether or not to allow the Texas Card House to continue operating as a business. As this is the biggest poker house in Dallas, it will most likely determine the future of several poker clubs in Dallas.
Meanwhile the Governor's Lounge and the Watauga Social Club are still in operation and will not be affected by the Dallas decision.
